Welcome to Live Oak.
Live Oak was a remodel focused on making better use of two of the home's most important spaces. In the primary bath, reworking the original layout allowed the tub and shower to trade places, creating a light-filled shower, freestanding tub, and a much more open feel. The kitchen presented a different challenge—the existing plumbing needed to remain in place. Removing the galley layout and pass-through made room for a large island with additional seating, workspace, and storage. Black natural stone, warm custom cabinetry, and contrasting finishes brought character to both spaces while giving the home a fresh new direction.
Before
In the kitchen, it was obvious that the galley kitchen and pass-through needed to go. The homeowner's only request, don't move any plumbing, which meant the design needed to work around the current location of the appliances and sink. The island also provided extra seating and workspace and more than made up for the removed cabinetry storage. Black natural stone countertops, farmhouse sink and backsplash are warmed up with the beautiful wood tones of custom cabinetry .
